
Since publishing his first collection The Patter of Bare Feet (1998) in an anthology of Michigan writers, Michael Jones has won awards for his poetry throughout Michigan and his poems have received two Pushcart Prize nominations. Due out December 2016 is his most recent book,. Overtime and The Dance, a collection which explores our relationship with the world in which we live- both the Natural and the more than natural- often finding a sense of largess in the smallest of things and where new horizons are ever-present. Unlikely Trees (2014), his second collection of poems, is currently available; they expose a mind that knows itself, a sensibility that is associative and relational, and they offer a perspective that indulges in the wondrous and miraculous - sometimes with delight, sometimes not. He has a Master of Arts degree in English from Oakland University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications from the University of Michigan. He currently resides in Holland, Michigan.
